Connect your Whop business

Before you start

Buyers are charged on your own Whop business, never on LatchPay. This connection picks the business a store pays into, installs the LatchPay app on it, and lets LatchPay register a payment webhook there. It is step 3 of the wizard (right after the Shopify store) and the Whop page in the dashboard, which always shows the business of the store selected in the store menu; about three minutes.

• An active LatchPay membership on Whop.
• A Whop business you administer. If you do not have one yet, create it on Whop first.
• You are signed in to LatchPay with the same Whop account (Sign in).

The three steps

When a business is already connected to your account (for another store), LatchPay first asks Which Whop business receives this store's payments? Pick that business and you are done, or choose Connect a different Whop business for the three steps below. See Add another store.

   Pick the business that receives store payments

   LatchPay lists the businesses you administer on Whop. Choose the one that should receive store payouts and press Use this business. If the list is empty, create a business on Whop and press Refresh the list. If your Whop sign-in has expired, the page offers Sign in with Whop again.

   Install the LatchPay app on that business

   Press Open the install page on Whop; it opens in a new tab. When Whop asks where to install, choose the business you picked in step 1 and approve the permissions LatchPay asks for.

   

   Whop does not send you back automatically after the install, so the LatchPay tab keeps checking on its own every few seconds. You can also press I've installed it. To change your mind, press Pick a different business.

   Let LatchPay verify the permissions and register its webhook

   Once the app is installed, LatchPay checks the permissions and registers a payment webhook on the business. It listens for payments, refunds, disputes and pre-dispute alerts. The page then shows Store payments go to … with the business id and the webhook id. The full permission list, with what each one is for, is in Whop permissions.

When a permission is missing

Permissions are re-checked on dashboard loads (cached for five minutes). When Whop has not granted everything LatchPay needs, for instance after LatchPay added a permission to the app, the page shows what is missing and a Re-approve on Whop link. Checkouts stay paused until you approve the app again and press Re-check.

A missing optional permission (refunds, dispute evidence) never pauses checkouts; the page marks it as not granted.

Good to know

• LatchPay only creates the payment on your business and listens for the result.
• One business can receive the payments of several stores; each store can also have its own business.
• Disconnect stops the selected store's payments until a business is linked again. When no other store pays into the business, it also removes the payment webhook; otherwise the business stays connected for those stores.
• The usage fee is never taken from these payments. It is billed separately to the card on your LatchPay membership.
